Discover Pienza

Pienza is a beautiful panoramic village that straddles the Val di Chiana and Val d’Orcia and can be reached via a panoramic road in the Sienese hills.

Unlike the surrounding villages, the history of Pienza is not linked to the Etruscan and Roman civilization. The center of the Pienza structure is Piazza Pio II, which is overlooked by the main buildings of the city: the Cathedral of the Assumption and Palazzo Piccolomini, from which a spectacular view opens over the entire Val d’Orcia from Montalcino to Monte Amiata.

The historic center of Pienza has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco: during the walk through the streets of Pienza, stop in one of the many restaurants and wineries to taste its delicacies, first of all the pecorino, perhaps accompanied by an excellent wine glass.
